European Leaders Condemn US Action as ‘Coercion’
Officials from Europe including the French president accused the US administration of “bullying and threats”, after the visa restrictions were placed on figures that were central to campaigns to enact legislation regulating US-based technology firms.
“For far too long, ideologues in Europe have spearheaded coordinated campaigns to pressure US companies to suppress US perspectives they disagree with,” stated the US secretary of state in a social media post. “This government will not stand for these egregious acts of extraterritorial censorship.”
